open money naming systems - notes
1) mutual credit cc are easy and can in many cases be largely self-sustaining
without excessive administration interventions.
2) multiple cc are more useful than singular, and people are increasingly
coming to see this.
3) in principle it is possible for any individual / organization anywhere to
initiate / join any available system.
According to the above, the cc space is a commons.
4) in practice, internet makes the cc deployment easier, but this isn't about
internet
5) internet can more easily adjust to accommodate the "real" world than vice
versa / an interim kludge can be morphed as needed. (And it makes sense to
get as close as we can to an end system at the start.)
6) a naming process is needed now. Essentially, it has to be global and to
have the necessary resilience and coherence it needs to be a recursive
multi-level collaboration - a network, both flat and up and down, a holarchy.
7) there are significant national distinctions - language, culture, unit of
account, tax and other regulations
8) national / regional / local / neighbourhood makes sense for reputation
development and management
9) there needs to be a revenue generation process to maintain financing for
ongoing development and making something of this commonwealth is not as
simple as it might seem.
10) this seems best positioned at the regional - local, mainly to take best
advantage of the scale and range and maintain some diversity with each
national context
11) the LETSystem Trust is relevant here, since it specifies the basic terms
of agreement for any registries to offer LETSystem services to users - the
business ctc protocol as a funding mechanism for regional development through
chaordic collaboratives.
12) it's important to avoid as much as possible any interim enclosure - ms,
banks, governments etc - so it makes sense to declare a name space right away
13) as well as communities of place, there will be communities of practice.
however, dentists of southern spain is a more immediately relevant cop than
dentists of europe or dentists of the world, so it's likely most of the first
cop will emerge in places.
14) so tld in cc space will generally emerge from collaboration between
national level domains - ie when there are several countries that have
dentists domains working with the agreed code of practice, they could
collaborate to form a tld for dentists
