Money Manifesto brainstorm

This is a place to add in bits an pieces that you think need to be part of an open money manifesto. Anything goes here, but keep it short. Each bullet item should be a concrete thought or piece that's immediately understandable. The idea is to convert each of these items into a concept vehicle that can then, if it passes muster, be used in the final manifesto.

Anything goes here, from specific ideas to how currencies "should" or "should not" be designed, to global philosophical thoughts about money. These are the seeds, but remember, many shall be weeded.

• money is information
• currently money is not a means of allocating scarce resources, rather, it is the scarce resource that people compete for in order to consume
• production by the masses not mass production
• support the rise of the prosumer
• money must be in the commons
• money must not be based on debt
• the growth imperative of our economy is a direct consequence of debt-based money
• monetary systems are not value neutral, they always encode some end
• the monetary system must strengthen local communities
• we need an ecology of currencies
• the new money is based on the paradigm of abundance
• we must focus on the Core Economy?
• Complementary Currencies
• we need both yin & yang currencies
• the currency supply should be self-regulating
• control of money must be decentralized and createable by any community at any time
• the current economy is for the benefit of the producers, this is why we see so much waste in advertising and marketing, it is producers hunting for consumers.
