Official U.S. Government site. Includes marketing and trade, research and science, education and outreach information. Also provides news, announcements and events. 1

Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy
U.S.-based organization. In 1986, IATP began documenting the underlying causes of America's rural crisis and proposing policies that would benefit farmers, consumers, rural communities and the environment. IATP works with organizations around the world to analyze how global trade agreements impact domestic farm and food policies. Alongside a global coalition, IATP advocates for fair trade policies that promote strong health standards, labor and human rights, the environment and, most fundamentally, democratic institutions. 2

Agricultural Policy Analysis Center
University of Tennessee – examines policies, regulations & conditions that affect how farmers operate their business and how the agriculture sector performs. Site includes policy columns, publications, including “Rethinking U.S. AG Policy,” and a listing of research areas and tools. 3

Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute
Iowa State University -FAPRI prepares baseline projections each year for the U.S. agricultural sector and international commodity markets. The multi-year projections are published as FAPRI Outlooks, which provide a starting point for evaluating and comparing scenarios involving macroeconomic, policy, weather, and technology variables. These projections are intended for use by farmers, government agencies and officials, agribusinesses, and others who do medium-range and long-term planning. One of several useful tools is the FAPRI Searchable Policy Database, which allows users to display and download agricultural policy data from the latest FAPRI Outlook. 4

National Center for Food and Agricultural Policy
Washington, D.C.- based NCFAP fosters and conducts objective, non-advocacy research, analysis, and education to inform public policy on food, agriculture, natural resources, environmental quality, and rural economics. Through partnerships with a network of universities, federal agencies, and other institutions, it accesses the most appropriate data, analysis and expertise for the policy issues at hand, and molds the resulting information into products and services to inform policy. Stakeholders are provided a balanced perspective on the likely outcomes of alternative policy approaches, including how gains and losses are distributed. 5

Organic Consumers Association
The Organic Consumers Association is a public interest organization dedicated to promoting health, justice and sustainability. A central focus of the OCA is building a healthy, equitable, and sustainable system of food production and consumption. OCA is a global clearinghouse for information and grassroots technical assistance. OCA works with a broad range of public interest organizations to challenge industrial agriculture, corporate globalization, and the Wal-Martization of the economy, and inspire consumers to "Buy Local, Organic, and Fair Made." 6

Includes a news magazine plus guides and links to information on livestock, biotechnology, land/water development, crop production, plant protection, and agricultural support systems. Very broad and deep site that includes the World Agricultural Information Centre Portal. 7

International Food & Agricultural Trade Policy Council
IPC promotes a more open and equitable global food system by pursuing pragmatic trade and development policies in food and agriculture to meet the world's growing needs. IPC convenes influential policymakers, agribusiness executives, farm leaders, and academics from developed and developing countries to clarify complex issues, build consensus, and to advocate policies to decision-makers. 8

Eldis Agriculture Resource Guide
Extensive site with documents and feature articles from a wide variety of international sources. Site also includes “quick access” to several agriculture-related topics. 9

Cairns Group
The Cairns Group is a coalition of 18 agricultural exporting countries, a diverse coalition bringing together developed and developing countries from Latin America, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. The Cairns Group's objectives include deep cuts to all tariffs (including tariff peaks) and removal of tariff escalation, the elimination of all trade-distorting domestic subsidies, and the elimination of export subsidies and clear rules to prevent circumvention of export subsidy commitments. 10

EurActiv.com is the independent media portal fully dedicated to EU affairs. The CAP Reform Policy Section looks at current news and analysis of efforts to update and reform the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy. 11

Global Policy Forum – Agricultural Subsidies
Rich countries spend billions subsidizing their agricultural sector, leading to chronic overproduction and dumping surpluses on global markets. Poor countries demand reform of this trade practice that impoverishes small-scale farmers while enriching large agri-business. World Agroforestry Centre
An autonomous, non-profit international organization whose purpose is to help mitigate tropical deforestation, land depletion and rural poverty through improved agroforestry systems. WAC conducts strategic and applied research, in partnership with national institutions, aimed at developing appropriate agroforestry technologies for more sustainable and productive land use. Includes news reports on agroforestry related issues around the world. 15
